Jonathyn was born and raised in Dallas, TX. When he was two years old, his parents divorced, and he lived with his mother throughout his youth, seeing his father on the weekends. He is the youngest of three siblings, with one brother and one sister.

Jonathyn's mom has worked for the Office of the Attorney General for 25 years, while his father has been a truck driver for 30 years. In January 2015, Jonathyn was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a challenging season in his life that he had to navigate at a young age.

In high school, Jonathyn was considered one of the best basketball players in the city. However, after graduating during the pandemic in 2020, he experienced deep depression, feeling purposeless after basketball was taken away due to universities being sent home.

In August 2021, he accepted his call to ministry, leading him to relocate to San Antonio. Alongside serving the Lord, Jonathyn is pursuing his Bachelor's in Business Administration at Texas A&M San Antonio, majoring in Marketing. He strives to be a reflection of the best role model there is (Jesus) for those who don't have one.

Looking forward, Jonathyn plans on marrying his beautiful girlfriend, Betzaida Diaz, who is currently attending nursing school at the University of the Incarnate Word, and he also is looking forward to one day becoming a father.
